Working with Tamás and Emőke was a great experience cause usually here in Curacao when you work with people that came from another country their native language is either, Dutch, English, or Spanish. So we have to adapt to their native language and struggle with the communication but it always goes quite well. But this time with Tamás and Emőke they had to adapt and we had to adapt too. So it was even harder but not impossible.
Once we got over the language barrier it all started moving well. The ideas and the ideas that they had for the play were very interesting, and due to the training they gave us before executing the play were very helpful. And I think that, that was what made it much easier to bring their ideas to life. Because even though we had the language barrier the way they guided us toward their ideas made it easier to understand and execute.
The story and the idea of the play itself were well. Where we could tell our stories and dreams and be free. We didn’t act but we were ourselves on stage and there for we performed, with no problem. The story of the Barentsz Brothers and the project of Tamás and Emőke are great. The whole concept of being a hero or having a hero I think is important cause there you can put what you want to achieve and maybe also who you want to be. I’m glad that I and the Theatrical group of Pispein were a part of it and I know that we all will keep applying the little tips we got from Tamás and Emőke in our acting careers.
We made some friends and gave a great performance where we used any language we wanted, and told about ourselves and our dreams sang and danced and also incorporated some of our ideas in the play. Besides all that we had fun and enjoyed it. Life it’s not about getting a great job and making tons of money, it’s about enjoying, learning and being happy doing what you feel comfortable doing. And I know for sure that we all would very much like to visit Hungary and act alongside Tamás and Emőke again. (And learn some Hungarian.)
